Tasks:

The scope of responsibility comprises project planning, conception, design and examination of complex drawing systems and production methods in the “chipless forming” production sector, all of which will be carried out in an independent manner with full responsibility. Developing the production strategy for chassis components. Determination of the 3D method geometry across all work sequences with due regard for press-specific issues (flow chart, mechanisation, replacement press strategy, press technology). Analysis, determination and assessment of requirements and problems relating to the current methods and processes followed by identification of action steps. Performing preliminary investigations and feasibility studies in order to develop methods and standards. Developing and optimising solutions to the point where a decision can be made, in addition to development and technical and commercial evaluation of alternative solutions. Internal agreement on the structural design with the participating departments (TUF) as well as with external customers with regards to functionality, standardisation, profitability. Development and assurance of availability of implementation options under production-related, procedural and economic conditions (productivity, safety, service life, manufacturability).

Qualifications:

• Degree in mechanical engineering, forming, tool maker with further training to become a technician
• Command of English
• Thorough knowledge of simulations in forming technology. IV, PC and CAD skills, press technology, tool construction
• Business skills and experience of project work
