Terms of reference
- Design, construction, and implementation of networks using maritime technology (LAN, VLAN, VXLAN)
- Design, configuration, and implementation of virtual network components, preferably VMware (vSwitch, dSwitch, NSX)
- Support and ongoing maintenance of existing networks, including switches, routers, firewalls, and other network components (Cisco, Nvidia/Mellanox).
- Proactive network monitoring using network management tools, identifying faults, and conducting problem analysis and resolution.
- Establishment, evaluation, and maintenance of security concepts in the IT security sense, e.g.
Your profile
- Completed studies in computer science, network technology, or a comparable qualification, such as a completed vocational training in the IT field (e.g., IT specialist for system integration) with subsequent further training as a technician and relevant professional experience, ideally in systems networks.
- Knowledge of common network technologies (e.g., Cisco, Juniper) is an advantage.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF).
- Industry-standard certifications such as CCNA, CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Associate/Professional), or other network certificates are an advantage.
- Analytical skills for solving complex network problems and troubleshooting.
